Student Tutors – All Program Areas Hours: 4-20 hours per week, may include evening hours Responsibilities:
Provided Peer assistance in the Academic Achievement Center during scheduled hours. Meet with students on a one-on-one or small-group basis for private tutoring sessions.
Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions and activity in the Academic Achievement Center.
Tutor in your subject and one or more general education area.
Lead Myaicampus workshops and basic computer workshops.
Assist with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
The applicant must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in their program area and have good attendance. Should be within their last 4 quarters.
Must be be punctual, reliable and honest.
Must have good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying backgrounds.
Must be patient, friendly and have good customer service skills.
Must have recommendations from faculty or department chair.
Training:
New tutors will be required to attend trainings prior to tutoring. Additional trainings may be required if tutoring in Math or English.
