Craft Apprentice

IES Labor Services has an immediate need for a Craft Apprentice to support the need of a local custom lighting company. This is an outstanding opportunity for an artistic minded person with extraordinary attention to detail.
Activities will include:
• Reviewing/reading CAD Drawing
• Build products based on CAD Drawing
• Using mathematic skills to in the building of the products
• Communication with engineers and CAD operators
• Welding soft and fine metals
• Using calipers

The Craft Apprentice will be hand-crafting custom and made-to-order lighting fixtures. This will require the ability to lift 50lbs and sit or stand for long periods of time.

Required Experience:
• Mathematic skills (advanced)
• Ability to interpret CAD Drawings desired
• Artistic background
• Strong communication skills
• Time management
• Strong attention to detail
• Desire to work with hands
• Use of hand tools and small power tools
• Problem solving skills
• “Can-do” Attitude
Desired Skills:
• Soldering
• Welding
• Fabrication/Sheet metal work
• Lathe turning/machining
