Is looking for an intern three days a week with an average of 4-5 hours each day. The intern would learn all the    ropes in design from the bottom up, i. e. conversing with vendors, learning the ordering system, helping with contracts, greeting the public from the front desk, checking stock on items, conferring with our Murrells Inlet store, etc.  

It will absolutely require a student who is very familiar with the computer.  Being familiar with AutoCad may also help but wouldn't be required. Must be a multi-tasker, neat and tidy with good social skills.

Artisan Apprentice

IES Labor Services has an immediate need for an Artisan Apprentice to support the need of a local custom built lighting company. This is an outstanding opportunity for an artistic minded person with extraordinary attention to detail.

Activities will include:
• Detailing
• Surface - Metal finishing
• Shipment preparation
• Attention to detail
• Polishing/buffing
• Plating
• Oxidation

The Artisan Apprentice will be responsible for creating finishes by applying paint, lacquer and other coatings to metal fixtures using a variety of techniques, including plating and oxidation. This will require working with other Artisans to learn the trade of finishing.

This is a temporary to full-time opportunity. Training will be provided to the right candidate. This particular role will require repetitive activities during the shift. The Artisan Apprentice will be working with custom made lighting preparing them for shipment to the customer.

Required Experience:

• Auto Detailing or Auto Metal work - desired
• Experience working in an environment where attention to fine detail is required
• Ability and desire to work to work with hands, using sanding, painting, dipping, polishing to create finished product.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Tolerance of repetitions work.

Craft Apprentice

IES Labor Services has an immediate need for a Craft Apprentice to support the need of a local custom lighting company. This is an outstanding opportunity for an artistic minded person with extraordinary attention to detail.
Activities will include:
• Reviewing/reading CAD Drawing
• Build products based on CAD Drawing
• Using mathematic skills to in the building of the products
• Communication with engineers and CAD operators
• Welding soft and fine metals
• Using calipers

The Craft Apprentice will be hand-crafting custom and made-to-order lighting fixtures. This will require the ability to lift 50lbs and sit or stand for long periods of time.

Required Experience:
• Mathematic skills (advanced)
• Ability to interpret CAD Drawings desired
• Artistic background
• Strong communication skills
• Time management
• Strong attention to detail
• Desire to work with hands
• Use of hand tools and small power tools
